Q: How can the Economic Mission help my business?

A: We can provide the information you need to start you on your way to doing business with Israel (or with the U.S. if you are an Israeli company). Our professionals can offer you guidance on exporting or importing products, opening a sales office or manufacturing facility, identifying potential business partners and service providers, and much more.

Q: Does the Economic Mission have representatives in my area?

A: Economic Consuls are located in four cities and are responsible for specific regions around the country. Our offices are in: New York (covering the Northeast), Los Angeles (South and Southwest), Chicago (Midwest), Houston (Southeast) and Washington D.C. We also have a Trade Commissioner in Toronto who covers Canada.

Q: I am a journalist – where can I find information about Israel’s economy for a story?

A: Information about Israel’s economy is available at many of the web sites listed on our links page. You can also contact our Director of Communications for additional information and to arrange interviews with economic officials in the U.S.

Q: How can I import products from Israel?

A: You can contact the Economic Mission representatives in North America who will be happy to help you learn about Israeli exporters and manufacturers and put you in contact with relevant Israeli companies.

Q: How can I find conferences, trade shows and other events in both the U.S. and Israel?

A: Israel hosts numerous business conferences and trade shows each year in industries as varied as jewelry and water technology. The Israel Economic Mission also organizes many business-to-business events throughout the year. Upcoming events are listed on our events page, or contact the Israel Economic Mission directly. Q: Is funding available for American companies seeking to establish a presence in Israel?

A: The Israel-U.S. Binational Industrial Research and Development (BIRD) Foundation is a program that promotes bilateral trade by funding joint R&D projects between Israeli and U.S. companies. The BIRD Foundation funds up to 50 percent of join R&D efforts for approximately 20 projects each year.

The Israeli government offers a variety of investment incentives for international companies, including loans, grants and tax holidays. Manufacturers can also benefit from Israel’s free trade agreements with the U.S., E.U., and other nations. Please visit the section entitled “Invest in Israel ” for more detailed information.

Q: I would like detailed reports on Israel’s economy. Where can I find them?

Q: What are Israel Bonds and where can I purchase them?

A: Israel Bonds raise funding for infrastructure projects and other economic development initiatives in Israel. Bonds can be purchased through the State of Israel Bonds organization.

Q: I am interested in investing in Israeli companies. Can I do that from the U.S.?

A: Israel has more companies traded on U.S. exchanges than any other foreign country.  For a list of Israeli companies traded on NASDAQ or the New York Stock Exchange, click here.  Many companies are also dual listed on these exchanges and the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
